Zoe Karssen @ L' Eclaireur Paris

You probably know her from the t-shirts with the Chanel mark. Zoe started designing shirts just for her friends and family... but this was such a success that she went on ... and now you can find her collection @ L' Eclaireur Paris! She also writes a great blog, which you might want to check out.

This winters collection takes it's inspiration from various icons in the music and fashion industries like Alison Mosshart, Kate moss, Erin wasson, Jessica Hart, Blondie, and Marilyn Monroe to name but a few. And it was further accompanied by a collaboration between Jolijn Snijders (I Love Fake magazine) and Zoe Karssen. Working with ethereal natural light and casting models with imperfect beauty, Jolijn Snijder’s photographs exude sensuality but also have a feeling of risk, the perfect match for the Zoe Karssen brand.

I was real happy to score these two items:

Would you also like to own a Zoe Karssen original? Just visit L'Eclaireur, or when you live in Holland just shop at Welikefashion.com or visit Zoe's own webshop.

I want to be her

Check out this great new blog: I WANT TO BE HER

It is by Andrea Linett, she is the co-founder and former creative director of Lucky Magazine. She stops great looking woman on the streets of New York and asks them the details of their personal style. Then she features an illustration (by Anne Johnston) or photo, along with the girls' personal styling tips (including addresses).

This is what she says about her blog:

"I want to be a different woman every day. Sometimes I see her on the street, sometimes I see her in a magazine, but I always want to try her clothes on even if it’s just for one day.

We will bring you a few women every week – some I’ve spotted just walking around, some I’ve conjured up in my head. Some are illustrated by Anne from my notebook scratchings, and others will be photographed. Then of course we’ll take you to where you can buy everything you need to get the whole look.

We hope you enjoy and get inspired! xxoo Andrea Linett "

Ivy League

When reading the online GQ magazine this morning, because I always love Tommy Ton's men's street style captures, my eye was caught by photographer Gordon von Steiner. He turned his lens to the blue-blooded style aces at the head of Princeton's class. Some of my favorites:

Ps. If like me you like the ivy league style for men, also check out one of my previous blogs ... there is a great book about it on my whishlist: Take Ivy, the long-out-of-print Japanese photo book that chronicled manners of dress on America's Ivy League campuses during the mid-'60s (original copies are scarce, and fetch high prices from preppy-style obsessives) has been reprinted in English. The book's 145 photographs capture a sartorial sensibility that is just as prevalent today as it was over 50 years ago.

Or check out the blog Ivy Style. Brought to the Web by two non-Ivy Leaguers—and written with a passion only outsiders can muster—Ivy Style is a newish blog that aims to sate cravings for patrician fashion.

Jimmy Choo sneakers

I spotted them last April ... tried to ignore them, but still.... can't get them out of my mind. They're just too cool!

These luxurious leather and soft, supple suede trainers,  by Jimmy Choo, featuring glamorous gold eyelets and striking star-printed soles are perfect for chic run-around days. Especially this model low rise in this beige color caught my eye ....
But you might like an other model or color:

The Prada Fantasy Motionbook FW10

Valentino for GAP

The parka, the T- shirt, the hoodie and even cargo pants have been given the Valentino touch in a new capsule collection for the Gap in Europe.

If you like ruffles, this is the line for you. Valentino has taken the line's signature flower-like ruffles and flounces off evening gowns and luxury handbags and put them on casual clothing. The results are beautiful if perhaps a little over-the-top. Vogue UK has images of the seven-piece collection, which was launched to celebrate the opening of Gap's first Italian store last week in Milan.

The line will also be sold at Gap in London and at Colette in Paris but isn't expected to jump the pond. The line is just the latest in a series of high/low collaborations including the recent H&M Lanvin line.

The mad hatter

Mylene at the Polo Match
A couple of weeks ago I went with some friends to a polo match. When we where shopping around a bit in one of the booths they had some great hats. We tried a couple and suddenly a certain model reminded me of some other similar ones, that lately I see more en more off. Although I don't wear a hat often, I might get this one as it looks very good and makes a great accessory with this winter's fashion....

Where to buy a hat like this?
A great place to do so is the Chicago based Optimo Hat Company. I Just love their "Al Capone" style promo video... Check it out... It takes you back in time immediately, and shows a kind of craftsmanship you don't see often anymore.

You can also buy them for approx. Euro 39,= at the Mango stores (and online) as they are part of Mango's winter 2010/2011 collection.
